We’re headquartered in the suburbs but spend most of our time on site at our various restaurant clients in the DC metro area. Our outstanding professional staff have decades of combined experience in multiple-facets of restaurant and tax accounting.
Matt Hetrick, CPA
Matt learned accounting from the ground up, starting as a data entry bookkeeper, and has held positions of progressive responsibility in the accounting field for over a decade. At various times in his career he has been a CPA, controller, staff accountant, tax researcher, and combat infantry squad leader in Iraq. With Culinary Accountants he focuses on client management, tax preparation, and enterprise expansion. He works with clients to make C-level managerial decisions and assists clients with all aspects of new enterprise planning, expansion, and transactional deals.
He is also an owner-partner in two self-started restaurants in Maryland: Preserve (Ranked #27 in the Washingtonian's 2016 Top 100, named to The Washington Post's 2015 Fall Dining Guide, and winner of the Restaurant Association of Maryland's 'Favorite New Restaurant' award) and Vintage (nominated in 2015 and 2016 for the Restaurant Association of Maryland's 'Best Chef' award). Through the process of redeveloping two historic buildings to house award-nominated restaurants, Matt absorbed countless lessons about restaurant planning and development and constantly uses his restaurants as experimental labs to implement, test, and refine financial best practices prior to recommending them to clients.
